EA Sports has released its “FIFA 16 - Best Goals of 2015” video and the final cut is outrageous. Scorpion kicks, rambonas, 35-yard volleys and overhead kicks from the top of the 18, every goal in this collection would certainly win the FIFA Puskás award if it were accomplished in reality.
While online opponents might be yelling “sweaty goal!” and heading for the menu’s exit, you can imagine the delirium the goal scorers must have felt. Mastering the controls and executing with this kind of precision certainly takes a huge amount of skill...and time.
And don’t tell me that there’s no pressure involved in playing FIFA. FIFA 16 online is one of the most harrowing experiences you can endure, it’s an intensely personal affair between yourself and the gamer profile known as SirYoMomma on the other side of the planet. Your opponents every move fills you with dread, their every pausing of the game making you question where chivalry and etiquette have gone in the world.
Still, there’s nothing like finally getting one past SirYoMomma and his brigade of Barcelona five star cheese. Remember the name, Barca: Dillon Powers, Colorado Rapids.
Like the great Thierry Henry once said, "Sometimes in football you have to score goals." These are the best of the best FIFA 16 goals.
EA Sports FIFA 16 - Best Goals of 2015
I’ve been playing FIFA since the 2002 World Cup edition (thanks for the memories Pavel Nedved) and not since they took away the arcade feel of the franchise have I been able to accomplish anything remotely near this level.
I had no idea that half of this was even possible. What button do you press to execute a scorpion kick? I still just get hyped when I score a goal, prioritizing keeping my defensive shape and blood pressure in line.
For me, FIFA 16 Career Mode is where it’s at. That’s where you can build the dream front three of Fellaini-Crouch-Carroll and tell your scouts to go scavenge New Zealand for the next great technically gifted Kiwi.
