It’s hard to believe it’s been more than 12 years since Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy went at an overzealous reporter by yelling: “I’m a man; I’m 40!” Back in 2007, Aaron Wilbraham was a spry young man in his 20s.

On Saturday, Wilbraham became a man.

At the youthful age of 40, Rochdale’s Aaron Wilbraham netted a late equalizer to record a surprising 1-1 draw with Newcastle United on Saturday at Crown Oil Arena. The League One side earned a replay at St. James’ Park in the third round of the FA Cup.

Last week, Manuel Neuer provided another example of his unique ability to excel outside of the box. With Portugal struggling to break down UEFA minnow Luxembourg — Bernardo Silva’s 16th-minute strike was all that separated the two sides after an hour — the team captain showed the rarely seen defensive side of his game to give his side a little breathing room.

This man is simply unstoppable right now. Bayern Munich earned a 7-2 win thanks to a stunning Robert Lewandowski goal vs Spurs on Tuesday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. 

Son Hueng-min and Joshua Kimmich traded early goals in the massive Group B clash, but it was the Polish striker who provided the difference maker just before halftime.

Lewandowski started and finished a wild play in the 45th minute, eventually punishing Tottenham for failing to clear the ball with a smashing effort from the edge of the 18. 

This was not a Madrid Derby to remember. Players like João Félix, Eden Hazard and Kieran Trippier received their first taste of the capital-city clasico, but none were able to make much of an imprint in a 0-0 draw between Real and Atlético Madrid on Saturday at the Wanda. 

Atleti keeper Jan Oblak was probably the best player on the pitch, making a couple great saves on Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema. But Real Madrid’s offensive forays were summed up most appropriately by an effort from Gareth Bale in the 57th minute.

Fresh off blowing a two-goal lead in a draw with Atlético Madrid in the Champions League at midweek, Juventus conceded an early penalty kick back at home to Hellas Verona in Serie A. What then transpired was a ridiculous Miguel Veloso goal vs Juventus, the exact same type of bullshit that makes you hate and love the FIFA video game series at the same time.
