Lyon secured its fifth straight Champions League title on Sunday after an entertaining 3-1 win over Wolfsburg to cement its place as the greatest dynasty in the history of the women's club game. 

With seven titles overall, no team comes close to matching Lyon’s total (Frankfurt has four), and it says everything about the club's European dominance of late that all those victories have been recorded over the past 10 seasons.

The unstoppable force of Lyon (four successive Champions League titles) met the immovable object Wolfsburg (unbeaten in more than a year) in the heavyweight final of the 2019-20 UEFA Women’s Champions League on Sunday, and it was the French side that reinforced its standing as the best team on the planet with a 3-1 victory at the Anoeta Stadium in San Sebastián, Spain.

It has been about a year since we have seen the U.S. women’s national team and Orlando Pride forward take the field, but Alex Morgan is back and better than ever with a new addition to the Pride family. Morgan had her first baby girl, Charlie Elena Carrasco on May 7 and now four months later she is on her way to Orlando to get back to team training.

Two-times World Cup winner and OL Reign midfielder Megan Rapinoe is opting out of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) fall series starting next month, the Washington-based franchise said in a statement on Friday.

U.S. international Rapinoe is among 10 Reign players who are not available for the tournament, which is scheduled to start on Sept. 5.

PSG coach Olivier Echouafni lost the UEFA Women’s Champions League semifinal to Lyon 1-0 on Wednesday. He also lost our respect after being seen groping French player Sandy Baltimore.

A former player who spent 16 years playing in Ligue 1, Echouafni managed the French national team briefly before taking over PSG Féminine in 2018. He’s had moderate success, but it’s hard to do anything notable when juggernaut Lyon is in your league. 

Orlando Pride and U.S. women’s bational team defender Ali Krieger has joined Major League Soccer club Orlando City SC's broadcast crew. Krieger is one of the most respected and humble defenders in the game and she will be showing what she is capable of off the field, as she has joined Evan Weston and Miguel Gallardo. Her soccer intelligence and love for the game will help provide analysis and sideline reporting for the remainder of Orlando’s 2020 MLS season.  

SAN SEBASTIAN — Wolfsburg ground out a 1-0 win over Barcelona on Tuesday to reach the Women's Champions League final for a fifth time.

Sweden forward Fridolina Rolfo put the Germans ahead against the run of the play in the 58th minute, firing in from close range as Barca, beaten finalists last year, failed to clear the danger.
