February 22nd, 2017: The jig is up. Leicester City have escaped Sevilla with only a single-goal deficit, but the final scoreline could’ve and should’ve seen Sevilla travel to the King Power Stadium with a three or four goal advantage. 

Leicester City are done and dusted — they’ve been tactically found out, the one-year wonders of Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and a defensive backline that’s suddenly had a massive epiphany regarding their own individual shortcomings means that the Foxes are doomed.

I don't know what Luke Shaw did to Jose Mourinho to make the Special One so angry at him, but it must have been really bad.

Here's what Mourinho said about the young defender earlier this week:

“It’s difficult for Shaw to be on the bench because I cannot compare him with Ashley Young, with Darmian, with Blind. I cannot compare the way he trains, the way he way he commits, the focus, the ambition. I cannot compare. He is a long way behind.”

Much of the consternation surrounding the England National Team (this is before the loss to Iceland, of course) surrounded the taking of corner kicks. Manager Roy Hodgson had Harry Kane, who is 6'3", on the job. Many argued someone else, someone shorter, should be taking corners so Kane could have the opportunity to head said corners into the back of the net.

Fortunately, new England manager Gareth Southgate does not have such an issue, as Stoke City forward Charlie Adam has solved it for him.

According to Manchester United, the club boasts 659 million followers worldwide. Of that number, 109,000 international visitors make the journey to Old Trafford every year to see their beloved Red Devils play according to the Office for National Statistics.

Liverpool moved into third place in the Premier League with a scintillating victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby. Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi struck for the home side while Matthew Pennington scored the lone Everton goal in Liverpool’s 3-1 victory.

Mane opened the scoring in the 8th-minute with a fantastic solo effort, driving past defenders before striking a low shot into the corner — his 13th league goal of the campaign. 

Andros Townsend’s decision to leave Newcastle United after their relegation still doesn’t sit well with me. He was a poor man’s Arjen Robben, but that’s no bad thing. If he’s on the right, he’s cutting inside and he’s unleashing a left-footed shot that’s flying into the corner. At least that’s what happened during his 13 games at Newcastle.

Along with the rest of the Crystal Palace team he’s been awful this season. It’s hard to pinpoint where it’s gone wrong, but no it isn’t. Alan Pardew was the manager.
