It’s shaping up to be one helluva second half to the Premier League season, and we have the month of December to thank for that. Chelsea strode to the top of the table, but Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City are all keeping the pressure on. Behind the top four, Arsenal and Manchester United are within touching distance.
At the bottom, Hull City, Swansea and Sunderland occupy the relegation spots, but Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough and even Leicester City will be sweating over their upcoming fixtures.
The changes in the table over the final month of 2016 boil down to some influential play from some of the PL’s biggest stars and, all importantly, goals. Here are the nominees for the Carling December Goal of the Month Award.

Personally, I’d go with a three-way tie between Jeff Hendrick, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Fabio Borini, but that’s not how these things work.
And if that decision wasn’t hard enough, here are the nominees for December’s Premier League Player of the Month. It’s not a bad list.
The shortlist is in for December's @EASPORTSFIFA Player of the Month! Who do you think should win?
