Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard has had his summer cut short via an ankle injury. The 26-year-old reported Real Madrid target twisted his ankle during Belgium training on Sunday, and scans revealed his ankle is broken.
No timetable has been given by Chelsea or Belgium for his return, but the speculation seems to be centered around whether Hazard will be fit for the start of the season in August.
Hazard had been in good form before the injury, enjoying a bounce-back season that saw him named in the PFA Team of the Year as Chelsea lifted the Premier League trophy. Now Belgium will be without one of their best players for the whole summer, and Chelsea could be without one of their stars for the beginning of their title defense.
Everything went well with my ankle operation, now I start the road to recovery! I will be stronger. Thank you for your support!! pic.twitter.com/aokirnytkW
