In the space of a week, Manchester City has defeated Liverpool, Dutch champions Feyenoord and now Watford by a combined scoreline of 15-0. In those three matches, Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero has provided five goals and two assists, including a hat trick and an assist in Saturday’s 6-0 hammering of Watford at Vicarage Road.
Manchester City are now alone atop the Premier League table with Manchester United not due to play until Monday. Key for City has been the play Aguero, who now has five goals in five EPL games. His strike partner Gabriel Jesus has contributed four, and Englishman Raheem Sterling has provided three himself.
City has already registered 16 league goals this season and their next match is at home to winless, scoreless Crystal Palace. Things are certainly looking promising in Pep Guardiola’s second season in charge.
