As a manager the last half-decade, Antonio Conte has turned pretty much everything he touches to gold. He won three straight Serie A titles with Juventus, led Italy to a 14-4-7 record over two years and won the Premier League in his first season in charge of Chelsea.
His secret? Big balls.
A recent training video released by Chelsea shows first-team players working on their, uh, let’s go with agility, by training with large exercise balls.
Cesc Fabregas and N’Golo Kante clumsily kick at balls tossed to their feet while teammates hold them up by wrapping their arms awkwardly around their bodies. Victor Moses uses his hands to hit a ball as he lays stomach down on an exercise ball, balanced by the gracious arms of Eden Hazard. Three players goofily bounce around on a single exercise ball with arms interlocked. Willian sits on a ball wondering why he didn’t end up at PSG.
Sometimes you just don’t want to know how the secret sauce is made. This is one of those times.
