There are some things that are inexcusable on the pitch, like throwing a punch, spitting on an opponent or stomping on a player. Then there are those that are unimaginable, like what happened during the Amed SK vs Sakaryaspor match on Saturday.
Amed SK vs Sakaryaspor is one of the bigger rivalries in Turkey’s third division, but there’s no excuse for what it appears Mansur Calar did on Saturday before the two teams played to a 1-1 draw.
Calar reportedly brought a razorblade or some small sharp object onto the pitch and used it to cut opponents, leaving bloody scratches on multiple opponents. The Amed SK player could be seeng taking a swipe at the neck of Ferhat Yazgan.
It’s unclear what exactly Calar was using to cut opponents, but fortunately it wasn’t anything large enough to cause more extreme damage, though no doubt it hurt like hell.

And you thought El Clásico was heated. I think we can all agree this is appalling behavior, even worse than flopping.
Amed SK has responded to the accusations by saying Sakaryaspor is “trying to slander our club with baseless claims.” Amed SK also posted video of Sakaryaspor fans trying to invade the locker room.

Fortunately, no major injuries have been reported out of this entire mess. Hopefully the next Amed SK vs Sakaryaspor match features fewer incidents of stupidity.
