The Christian Pulisic injury vs Atalanta on Friday has United States men’s national team fans concerned after the American star was forced to exit the game in the first half.
Pulisic has had a litany of injuries in his career but has had a great streak of being healthy lately. Most of his injuries happened during his time with Chelsea. Since joining Milan at the start of the 2023-24 season, the 26-year-old has only missed two games with the club due to injury.
His latest setback came in the 32nd minute of Friday’s Serie A game after a challenge from Atalanta’s Mario Pasalic. Pulisic grabbed at the lower part of his left leg after the tackle.
It’s unclear where the injury occurred whether it was the contact from Pasalic or Pulisic’s foot getting caught on the turf as he fell. Pasalaic’s knee connected with the top of Pulisic’s calf, however the American could be seen grabbing closer to his ankle.

Pulisic tried to continue playing but was clearly struggling. Several minutes after the knock Pulisic was springing a counterattack for Milan. He began dribbling from just outside his own box and by the time he got to midfield he didn’t appear comfortable.
He sat down and was substituted moments later.
When will Pulisic return from injury with AC Milan?
The USMNT attacker's odds of playing again in 2024 are very low, with reports now indicating that Pulisic is set to return to the pitch until 2025.
According to sources, the American winger will miss Milan's upcoming Champions League game on Wednesday vs. Red Star Belgrade, and three more Serie A games in December, with the club hoping to have the 26-year-old back for the Italian Super Cup semifinal against Juventus on Jan. 3.
Christian Pulisic is set to be sidelined until early January. AC Milan are aiming for him to return for the Supercoppa Italiana semifinals match against Juventus on January 3rd, 2025.
