Manchester United’s historic stadium, Old Trafford, is in just as bad a shape as the team’s form this season. The latest blow to the building’s reputation was a Manchester United mice situation as the little creatures have been spotted on the field and in the stands.
Two videos of mice in the stadium have gone viral from Manchester United’s win vs. Southampton on Thursday. One hopped onto the field while another was spotted in the stands.

These sightings come a month after Old Trafford’s hygiene rating dropped to two stars after a reported mice infestation. Mice droppings were discovered throughout the stadium including in the concessions and the suites.
Old Trafford will become 115 years old this year and has almost gone two decades since its last renovation in 2006.
Complaints about the stadium are nothing new as it feels there’s a new incident every couple of months. Last year saw the infamous “Old Trafford waterfall” as heavy rain caused flooding and leaks.

Man United legend Cristiano Ronaldo was vocal about the poor facilities when he made his return to the club in 2021. Ronaldo said that little had changed since he left the club in 2009.
“I saw things I saw when I was 20!” Ronaldo said.
“Nothing changed since I left: the pool, the jacuzzi, even the gym, even some technology… I thought I would see new technology, infrastructure.”
Rumors circulated last year that British billionaire and Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has plans for a new $2 billion stadium for the club that would seat 100,000 fans. The new home ground can’t come soon enough.
