Cristiano Ronaldo has been named to the top of the 2015 "Athletes Gone Good" list, compiled by DoSomething.org.
Ronaldo gained the top spot by finding a hot girl's phone in Vegas and returning it, then partying with her and her hot friends. Talk about do-gooder.
Just kidding. Ronaldo donated more than $165,000 to a hospital that treated his mom, and gave more than $83,000 to a young fan who needed brain surgery. He has also served as the spokesperson for a number of charitable causes. Not even the most ardent of Ronaldo haters (among which this writer sometimes numbers himself) could deny that the man is generous.
Barcelona forward Neymar Jr, came in fourth and USWNT midfielder Heather O'Reilly was seventh. Wrestler John Cena was second, tennis player Serena Williams third and figure skater Yuna Kim fourth.
Per Look to the Stars, this is how the list was compiled:
The winners of Athletes Gone Good are selected as a result of a three-part methodology, Votes and nominations from the public, Athlete’s influence on social media and Advice from the Athletes Gone Good Advisory Committee.
