Kylian Mbappé passed the great Michel Platini to become France’s fourth leading goal scorer in history during Friday’s Euro qualifier which the French won 2-1 vs. Netherlands.
Mbappé tied and surpassed Platini’s place among the great French goal scorers during the game against the Dutch as he scored both goals. The victory secured France a spot in the Euro 2024 edition in Germany.
His second goal was an absurd strike from outside the box that Dutch goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen had no chance saving.

That marks 42 international goals for Mbappé at just 24 years old. Olivier Giroud sits as France’s No. 1 goal scorer with 54. It’s only a matter of time before Mbappé catches him.
Only Olivier Giroud (54), Thierry Henry (51) and Antoine Griezmann (44) have scored more goals for France men's team than Kylian Mbappé (42).

Mbappé’s first goal against the Netherlands wasn’t too shabby either as he got on the end of a Jonathan Clauss cross and scored on the volley from close range.

He’s simply sensational to watch. Mbappé was truly in his element as when he wasn’t scoring, he was entertaining with a litany of tricks.

The Netherlands didn’t go down without a fight and got a goal back in the 83rd minute but ultimately fell 2-1.
