Cristiano Ronaldo wanted to kick off the Derby della Mole with a bang. Instead he kicked it off with a clang.
As Juventus hosted city rival Torino on Saturday, Ronaldo attempted an audacious shot from midfield straight from the opening kickoff. While you miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take, you also miss 100 percent of the shots that go 20 yards over the goal.

You can’t blame Ronaldo for trying, but it didn’t appear Salvatore Sirigu was far enough off his line to warrant such an effort. Either way, it didn’t worry the former PSG keeper as the shot wasn’t anywhere near his goal.
Knowing Ronaldo, he probably spent all week practicing this shot and then did the equivalent of hitting a free kick into the wall.
Things didn’t get much better for Juventus in the first half as Nicolas Nkoulou poked home the opener in the ninth minute for a 1-0 Torino lead at halftime.
