Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner worked as the Borussia Dortmund reserve team manager from 2011-2015 with Jurgen Klopp coaching the senior side. When Klopp was handed the task of managing Liverpool, Wagner was offered the role at Huddersfield in the English Championship.
Wagner, like Klopp, is in his 40s, wears nice glasses and is a bit emotional. On Sunday, Wagner reacted to his side’s late game-winning goal against Leeds United by running the length of the pitch to celebrate with his players.
In a derby match with huge implications on the Championship table (Huddersfield and Leeds are both in playoff positions), Leeds manager Garry Monk didn’t take kindly to this celebration.
“They’re my values; humility, respect and class, and I don’t think [Wagner] showed that,” said Monk after the match.
So when Wagner was returning to his technical area, Monk purposefully intercepted him and stuck an elbow into his ribs. Humility, respect and class.

Benches cleared, players came running and the fourth official didn’t say “No problem, guys. I like your passion”, but instead, both managers were sent to the stands and three players were cautioned.
The two sides could very well meet again in the promotion playoffs, which would be too turnt for Monk to handle.
