USWNT 2025 calendar: SheBelieves Cup, friendlies and more

The United States women’s national team had an incredible 2024 winning their first Olympic gold medal in 12 years. The 2025 USWNT calendar might not have any major tournaments on schedule but will still be an important 12-month stretch.

In 2025 the sole tournament for the USWNT will be the SheBelieves Cup in February against top opponents Australia, Japan and Colombia.

2025 USWNT calendar

January

  • Jan. 14-21: Training camp in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

February

SheBelieves Cup

  • Feb. 20: USA vs. Colombia (Houston, Texas)
  • Feb. 23: USA vs. Australia (Glendale, Arizona)
  • Feb. 26: USA vs. Japan (San Diego, California)

April

Friendlies

  • April 5: USA vs. Brazil (Los Angeles, California)
  • April 8: USA vs. Brazil (San Jose, California)

The rest of the year will consist of various friendlies with location, opponents and dates to be announced. What we do know is the four FIFA international windows these games will take place in. Expect 2-3 friendlies scheduled in these time frames.

TBD USWNT friendlies

  • May 26 – June 3
  • June 23 – July 2
  • October 20-29
  • November 24 – December 2

It’s possible that one of these international windows will see the USWNT play abroad in Europe as they did at the end of 2024 with a trip to England and the Netherlands.

What should USWNT fans expect in 2025?

With no major tournaments or World Cup/Olympic qualifying this year, head coach Emma Hayes has time to experiment with new players and tactics. 

The old guard of Alyssa Naeher, Alex Morgan, Becky Sauerburnn, Kelley O’Hara and more have played their final games for the USWNT. Now is the time for the next generation to establish themselves which they’ve already started with an Olympic gold.

One of the top priorities for 2025 will be finding the next starting goalkeeper with Naeher retiring from the national team at the end of 2024. Casey Murphy is the leading option as she was the backup to Naeher.

The three other goalkeepers that Hayes called up for January training camp were Angelina Anderson (Angel City), Claudia Dickey (Seattle Reign) and Mandy McGlynn (Utah Royal).
