Alyssa Thompson does it again! 18-year-old scores another memorable goal for Angel City

We're witnessing greatness.

Days after being named the March/April NWSL Rookie of the Month, 18-year-old Alyssa Thompson scored another outrageous goal during Angel City's 3-2 win over the Kansas City Current on Sunday night.

The No. 1 overall pick now has three goals in seven appearances, and each has been a showcase of her otherworldly talent.

Trinity Rodman becomes youngest in NWSL history to reach 10 goals, 10 assists

Trinity Rodman recorded one goal and one assist to spark the Washington Spirit to a convincing 3-1 victory over the visiting San Diego Wave on Saturday afternoon.

Ashley Sanchez and Paige Metayer also scored goals for the Spirit (3-0-3, 12 points), who notched all their tallies in the second half.

Alex Morgan scored a late goal for San Diego (3-3-0, 9 points), which lost its second straight match.

Lynn Williams’ insane form for Gotham FC should earn her a spot on USWNT World Cup roster

No one envies the job that U.S. women’s national team head coach Vlatko Andonovski has right now in trying to whittle down his roster to 23 for the World Cup. He will have many tough decisions to make, however one choice that shouldn’t be hard is including Lynn Williams.

The 29-year-old missed nearly all the last NWSL season with a hamstring injury she picked up in March 2022. In the offseason she made a move to Gotham FC and she’s off to an electric start to the 2023 campaign.

The Soccer Tournament: Why I love this 7-on-7 gimmick and you should too

The hype is growing around The Soccer Tournament (TST) — brainchild of the folks behind the increasingly popular The Basketball Tournament (TBT) — but I don't think anyone's talking about it nearly enough.

On June 1, 32 teams will descend on WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC, for a four-day tournament with the winners taking home $1 million. It's certainly not your traditional soccer tournament with different rules, procedures and a collection of squads comprised of legends, professionals, up-and-coming talents, amateurs, viral street sensations and everyone in-between.

HBO drop ‘Angel City’ trailer — a 3-part behind the scenes docuseries with Natalie Portman and more

We’ve seen how successful and interesting behind-the-scenes documentaries on professional soccer clubs have been. Amazon’s “All or Nothing” and Hulu’s “Welcome to Wrexham” come to mind as the latest success stories.

Now HBO is getting in on the action with their latest soccer docuseries “Angel City” which will follow the Los Angeles-based club’s inaugural season in the National Women’s Soccer League.

England’s World Cup dream takes another hit — Fran Kirby will undergo ACL surgery

England were handed another devastating blow after forward Fran Kirby said on Tuesday she will undergo knee surgery and miss the women's World Cup, adding to a growing list of players sidelined with knee injuries.

60,000 watch on in horror as Arsenal throw away place in Champions League final

When two teams are so evenly matched, the old cliché dictates that an individual piece of genius or a horrendous mistake will ultimately decide the outcome.

For Arsenal and Wolfsburg — with the score level at 4-4 on aggregate after nearly 190 minutes of action across the two legs — it was the unfortunate error that ultimately decided the tie.

American striker Madison Haley scores twice, wins MVP honors in Australia's title game

SYDNEY - American striker Madison Haley scored twice as Sydney FC snapped a three-season losing streak in Australian championship finals with a 4-0 win over Western United to claim a record-equalling fourth A-League Women's title on Sunday.

Haley opened the scoring in the fourth minute and added her second goal in stoppage time as Sydney added to their 2009, 2013 and 2019 triumphs and equalled Melbourne Victory's record as four-times champions.

Portland keeper Bella Bixby scores ridiculous backheel at 90+7' for 3-3 draw with Angel City

The Portland Thorns and Angel City played the NWSL's game of the season on Saturday night at Providence Park — who says draws are boring?

The match had absolutely everything.

In the 10th-minute, 18-year-old phenom Alyssa Thompson gave Angel City the lead with a run that showcased her frightening pace before beating Portland keeper Bella Bixby at her near post.

10 months after ACL tear, Alexia Putellas returns in Barça's biggest match of the season

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes probably had to deliver the most difficult team talk of her career after training on Wednesday. Looking ahead to tomorrow's Champions League semifinal second leg against Barcelona, she had to convince her team to forget about Caroline Graham Hansen's exceptional strike at Stamford Bridge, giving Barça a 1-0 advantage, then she had to prepare her team for the vociferous cauldron of noise they're about to face inside the Camp Nou.
