The first details of FIFA 20 have been confirmed by EA SPORTS, including a release date of September 27 and a new gameplay mode called “VOLTA Football” — which is “an authentic street football experience” wherein you can “build your player, pick your gear, and express your own personal style.”
In 2015, EA Sports bragged to anyone and everyone who would listen about how FIFA 16 would be the first video game of its kind to feature women’s soccer players.
Given the popularity of women’s soccer — especially in the U.S., where the women are actually successful compared to the men — it seemed an odd omission for the FIFA franchise to not have included women for so long. It took the 2015 Women’s World Cup (being played in Canada, where the FIFA series is developed), to spur EA into actually including women in its best-selling sports franchise.

Ibrahimovic tweeted his support for Apex Legends, the new battle royale game taking over the world, on Friday, telling his followers to check out his brother Aleksandar’s live Twitch stream. Aleksandar, who in the past has played Fortnite with Zlatan, was playing Apex Legends, not Fortnite.
Late Monday night, I finally completed the main story of Red Dead Redemption 2. The masterpiece created by Rockstar Games is massive and beautiful (though it was by no means the best game I’ve played in the last year). Given the success of the game, the developers of the FIFA series over at EA Sports could learn a few things from RDR2.
On Monday, EA Sports posted a video featuring the best goals scored in FIFA 19 so far. As you’d expect, it’s a compilation of players like Neymar and Antoine Griezmann flicking the ball up, turning and swiveling, mutating their bodies into ungodly forms and weltering bicycle kicks from over 30 yards out. FIFA is a worldwide phenomenon, drawing millions of players each year. Every season, soccer fans wonder what the overall ratings of their favorite players will be, so much so that FIFA annually releases a top 100 overall rating list before the release of the game every September. Kevin Ellison, a Morecambe FC player, is not in the top 100.
