Big Ten Postpones All Fall Sports, Including Women’s And Men’s Soccer

The Big Ten Conference has decided to postpone its 2020-21 football season, along with other fall sports, citing concerns about the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. collegiate athletic conference said on Tuesday.

The postponement impacts football, men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, and women’s volleyball. The conference said it would "continue to evaluate a number of options regarding these sports, including the possibility of competition in the spring" with winter and spring sports also being "evaluated."

FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) is the wildly popular game mode that combines collectible card game elements (used to build your own squad) with the traditional FIFA gameplay, and EA Sports traditionally spends a large portion of its time between released working on this cash cow.

2020 MLS Season: Play Resumes On Aug. 12 In Home Markets Despite COVID-19 Fears

Major League Soccer will resume the regular season with clubs playing in their home cities starting from Aug. 12 following the end of the single-site tournament in Florida that was designed to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the league said on Saturday.

The majority of matches will be played without fans in attendance and the regular season will lead into an expanded 18-team post-season, culminating with the MLS Cup on Dec. 12, MLS added in a news release.

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic, widely considered the United States' top soccer export, is expected to miss six weeks with a right hamstring injury that could extend until the start of the next Premier League season.

The Hershey, Penn., native, who will turn 22 next month, came away with his injury during Chelsea's 2-1 FA Cup final loss to Arsenal. Pulisic scored his team's lone goal in the first half.

U.S. Billionaire Signs Deal To Buy Roma For Over $700 Million

U.S. billionaire Dan Friedkin has signed a deal worth more than $700 million to purchase the Italian Serie A soccer club AS Roma, the club said on Thursday.

Roma said in statement that formal contracts with the Houston, Texas-based Friedkin Group were signed on Wednesday for a transaction valued at 591 million euros.

"We look forward to closing the purchase as soon as possible and immersing ourselves in the AS Roma family," Friedkin said in a statement on the club website.
