FIFA President Promises Women’s Club World Cup To ‘Revolutionize’ The Game

FIFA president Gianni Infantino says a new Women's Club World Cup is being planned as part of a plan to "revolutionize" the female game.

In an interview with French sports newspaper L'Equipe, Infantino said he was looking forward to the first edition of the already agreed new 24-team men's Club World Cup but said a women's version was in the pipeline too.

"My dream is also to see the birth of the very first Women's Club World Cup. It’s coming very soon. And it will really revolutionize women's football," he said.

Announcer Makes Racist Comment On Live TV After Di María’s Boneheaded Red Card

Prior to Tuesday, Ángel Di María had played 741 matches for club and country, receiving all of four straight red cards and 80 yellow cards. No one would ever say Di María is a hothead or has a habit of committing bad fouls — even Lionel Messi has more yellow cards in his career. So it makes the racist comment CBS announcer Jim Beglin said after the Di María red card all the more baffling.

Dislike And Distrust In Manchester: Time For Glazer Family To Sell The Club

MANCHESTER, England - It has certainly been a year of sporting contrasts for American businessman Joel Glazer.

In February, he was in celebratory mood, raising the Vince Lombardi trophy as his NFL team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl, led by veteran quarterback Tom Brady.

Three months later, Glazer's Premier League soccer team, Manchester United, had to call off their match against rivals Liverpool following violent protests against the American's ownership of the club.

Gio Reyna Scores Twice To Ensure An American Will Win DFB Pokal This Season

One way or another, an American will win the DFB Pokal this season. Gio Reyna made sure of that in emphatic fashion, scoring the first two goals as Borussia Dortmund spanked Holstein Kiel 5-0 in the semifinals on Saturday. Reyna, 18, became the second U.S. international to score in a DFB Pokal semifinal after Thomas Dooley did it in 1990 with Kaiserslautern.

Josh Sargent played his heart out for more than 120 minutes, and when it was over his compatriot Tyler Adams was there to console him. Adams was an unused substitute, but his RB Leipzig side beat Sargent’s Werder Bremen 2-1 in the DFB Pokal semifinals, with Emil Forsberg scoring the winner in the 121st minute.

The Only Thing Hotter Than Daryl Dike’s Goalscoring Form Is His TikTok

As someone over the age of 30, I’m constantly blown away by the creativity I see on TikTok. Sure, there’s plenty of bullshit out there (as with any social media site), but there’s also a thriving community of people younger than me doing cool shit. The Daryl Dike TikTok account is a perfect example of the joy that can be found on the app.

Get To Know The Clubs Fighting For A Place In The Bundesliga

While fans of the European game will rightly be keeping an eye on the nail-biting title races in the top divisions of France and Spain, an exhilarating fight for promotion is coming to a head in Germany's second division.

With Bochum seemingly comfortable in first place on 60 points (first and second secure automatic promotion), the six teams below are dueling it out for second and third-placed finishes. It is incredibly high-stakes as unlike England's Championship, there is only one playoff place up for grabs as opposed to four.

USWNT Players That Are Lost But Not Forgotten

Vlatko Andonovski is trying to form an unstoppable USWNT squad and several young players have clearly been on his radar. While many of these youngsters have worked their way into the senior squad, they've bumped off some familiar faces in the process. Competition at the national team level is fierce and the best of the best will earn their spot, but for those that have not made the cut they must now work their way back under immense pressure.

Hopefully USWNT fans haven't forgotten about a few of these players that've not been consistent additions to Andonovski’s roster.

Monterrey Disrupts Columbus’ Best Laid Plans With 93rd-Minute Equalizer

It’s all square between Columbus and Monterrey after an enthralling 2-2 draw at Historic Crew Stadium on Wednesday night.

The first leg of this CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal began disastrously for the Crew with Aké Loba opening the scoring for the visitors in the ninth-minute, but Milton Valenzuela equalized in the 65th before Lucas Zelarayán (a former Tigres player himself) scored a dramatic second in the 87th-minute.
