Barça-Real Set For Historic Women’s Champions League Showdown At Camp Nou

For the first time ever, Barcelona Femeni is set to host a match at the Camp Nou with fans in attendance, and what an event it'll be: the return leg of the club's UEFA Women's Champions League quarterfinal against Real Madrid on Wednesday, March 30.

If recent results are any indictor, it'll be a party atmosphere inside the ground following the first leg in Madrid on March 22.

Mesut Özil Wins Squid Game (AKA The Intercontinental Derby)

Sunday’s Intercontinental Derby between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe featured two sides that are struggling to keep pace with the top of the Süper Lig, but it’s always a monumental occasion when the European side of Istanbul clashes with the Asian.

The scene at Galatasaray’s NEF Stadium was electric before kick-off, with players entering the pitch to one of this season’s greatest tifos. If there’s a contest going on without a reference to Squid Game these days, did a contest really even take place?

Arturo Vidal Has Name Removed From Stadium In Chile Amid Feud With Local Government

Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal's name has been removed from a stadium in the community where he was born by local officials, prompting an angry response from the player.

The mayor in San Joaquin, a community in greater Santiago, said they took the decision to remove Vidal’s name due to a “misunderstanding” that the combative midfielder had helped fund its construction.

Vidal, however, said he asked for his name to be removed amid a dispute over access for young players.

Stand Collapses During Post-Match Celebrations In Netherlands

After recording a 1-0 away win over NEC to climb to sixth in the Eredivisie table, Vitesse players went over to celebrate with their traveling contingent at the Goffertstadion in Nijmegen, Netherlands.

Bouncing in unison, a segment at the bottom of the stand suddenly collapsed in the center, sending supporters tumbling toward the rift while players watched on in horror.

Light Show At Berlin’s Olympiastadion Reveals Euro 2024’s Foxy Logo

The decision to host Euro 2020 across multiple European cities brought some truly memorable moments in Copenhagen, Budapest and London, but let’s never do that again. There’s nothing like the staging of a month-long carnival in one country, so it works to maximize the confluence and mingling of fans from different nations as they converge on one shared home base. That's the best sort of party.

Work Continues In China On ‘World’s Largest’ Soccer Venue Despite Incredible Debt

GUANGZHOU, China - Work on a China Evergrande Group project in the southern city of Guangzhou to build one of the world's largest soccer stadiums is proceeding "as normal,” the company told Reuters on Monday, despite the real estate giant's cash woes.

Evergrande owes $305 billion in debt and has run short of cash, rattling global markets. It missed a payment deadline on a dollar bond last week.

Construction on the Guangzhou FC Soccer stadium, which was set to cost around $1.86 billion, began in April last year and had been due to finish by 2022.

Frankenstein Field: The Ultimate Amalgamation Of U.S. Soccer Stadium Abnormalities

One of the biggest struggles in American soccer, both at the amateur and the professional level, is the lack of quality, soccer-specific fields.

The only options are sharing a field with every other notable mid-level sports team in the city or playing on a forsaken piece of grass with significant wear and minimal seating.

And yet we wonder why we struggle to produce high-quality soccer players.

Real Madrid Finally Returns Home Sunday, Although The Bernabéu's Looking Pretty Steampunk

Imagine traveling back in time to March 1, 2020, for El Clásico at the historic Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid. After Sergio Ramos captained his side to a 2-0 win over Lionel Messi’s men, you could’ve stood up and screamed, “Well, I guess I won’t see any of you for 550 more days, and when we meet again here both Ramos and Messi will be at PSG!”

You would’ve been correct, but they would’ve put you in an asylum.

On Sunday, Sept. 12, Real Madrid finally returns to the Bernabéu with a LaLiga match against Celta Vigo after opening the campaign with three away games.

Trick Your Kids Into Loving Soccer With This New LEGO FC Barcelona Set

For whatever reason, little kids don’t seem to be too enthused over the idea of watching 22 people chase around a ball, largely fruitlessly, for an hour and a half. They’re still into being carefree, happy and imaginative rather than screaming at Federico Fernández to “f***ing get rid!” every weekend. They don’t know what they’re missing out on.

But one thing that unites all sons, daughters, nieces and nephews is their love for LEGO, and let’s be honest, that also unites all fathers, mothers, uncles and aunts.
