The 2022 Champions League Final — the most anticipated match of the year featuring Real Madrid and Liverpool, two of the world's most-followed clubs — was delayed 36 minutes after chaos outside the Stade de France in Paris resulted in the closure of gates and the slow filtering of supporters into the Liverpool end.

The original postponement was for 15 minutes, although an additional 15 was later added, as UEFA initially blamed the late arrival of Liverpool fans for the delay.

The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium in Seville, Spain, was awash in color and trembling with noise on Wednesday night as two of the world's most passionate fanbases delighted in a rare opportunity at continental glory in the Europa League final. 

The 2022 NFL International Series schedule has been released, featuring five games in four different soccer stadiums in England, Germany and Mexico. The venues in England, Wembley and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Mexico, Estadio Azteca, have been used before, but for the first time ever, a regular season game is coming to Germany and Munich's Allianz Arena.

Here's a breakdown of the NFL International Series stadiums and a bit of information on each. 

Ajax hosted Feyenoord on Sunday afternoon in a massive De Klassieker that was bound to prove decisive in the Eredivisie title race with the home side entering the match top of the table but just two points above second-place PSV. Feyenoord sat third, eight points back of Ajax, but a win at Johan Cruyff Arena would put the Rotterdam-based club right back in it.

Ajax experienced a foreboding start when a pyrotechnics display accidentally set fire to the club's own banners. The inferno caused a delay, but no injuries have been reported. 

LOS ANGELES - Charlotte FC will play their first ever home game on Saturday and opponents LA Galaxy know they will have to weather a storm of excitement pouring out from the team's supporters.

Charlotte, who joined MLS as its 28th team this season, are expected to draw an MLS record 75,000 supporters to Bank of America Stadium for their highly-anticipated home debut.

While it is "fantastic" for the league that it is expanding into new markets, it presents problems for the visitors, LA Galaxy coach Greg Vanney said.
