The Houston Dash fired goalkeepers coach Matt Lampson for an alleged violation of the NWSL's policies against fraternization.

The league and the team engaged a third-party attorney to investigate claims that Lampson, 34, had an improper relationship with a player.

Expansion NWSL side Bay FC break women’s transfer world record fee for Madrid’s Racheal Kundananji

Bay FC have signed Zambia forward Racheal Kundananji from Spain's Madrid CFF, the clubs announced on Tuesday, with the American team paying up to a reported $860,000 to set a new world record in women's football.

The 23-year-old, who joined Madrid in 2022 from fellow Spanish top-tier side Eibar, signed a contract through the 2027 season with an extension option for the 2028 campaign, the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) club said.

The NWSL is no longer the only Division 1 women’s soccer league in the United States as U.S. Soccer announced on Friday that the new USL Super League has been granted top flight status.

The USL Super League will kick off in 2024 with eight teams and already has plans for more cities to join in 2025.

U.S. Soccer President Cindy Parlow Cone congratulated the new league on their status and said it will create more opportunities for women’s players in the U.S.

Oshoala has spent the last five years with the mighty Barcelona Femení where she’s been unstoppable. In her time with Barcelona she won 14 trophies and scored 117 goals in 162 appearances. She became the first African women’s player to win the UEFA Champions League.

Ali Krieger was at practice when she learned of divorce — her teammates responded amazingly

Ali Krieger shared with SELF magazine that she learned of her divorce from former partner Ashlyn Harris while at training with Gotham FC.

The retired soccer star and USWNT legend had a rollercoaster of a year in 2023 with the highlight of her first NWSL Championship and the low of her divorce with Harris. The USWNT duo had been together for 13 years and had married in 2019.

USWNT midfield stud Sam Mewis announces her retirement from soccer

Legendary United States women’s national team midfielder Sam Mewis has announced her retirement from professional soccer at 31 years old.

Mewis, who won the World Cup with the USWNT in 2019, said that her prolonged knee injury is the reason for hanging up her boots.

The initial knee injury took place in 2017 and was a serious issue with her knee cartilage. She battled through the injury and competed in the 2019 World Cup and 2020 Olympics, but needed another surgery in January 2023.

Naomi Girma becomes first defender to win U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year

United States women’s national team and San Diego Wave center back Naomi Girma was a brick wall in defense last year and has deservedly been named the 2023 U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year.

Girma is the first pure defender to win the award in its 39-year history.
