Borussia Dortmund made it a sensational 17 goals in their last three matches following their 5-1 victory over Wolfsburg on Tuesday. This match, combined with their 6-0 weekend victory over Darmstadt and 6-0 Champions League triumph against Legia Warsaw, makes them the hottest team in Europe.

Dortmund climbed to the top of the Bundesliga table, albeit momentarily as they’ve played one more match than Bayern Munich, and Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang couldn’t hide his excitement.

Mexico internationals and Chivas youth products Marco Fabian and Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez squared off in the Bundesliga on Saturday, with the attacking midfielder and striker playing vital roles in Eintracht Frankfurt’s 2-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen.

Alexander Meier opened the scoring for the home side, Frankfurt, in the 53rd minute. His goal was provided by Fabian, the Frankfurt No. 10 supplying the cross for the opener. 

A few weeks ago, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez broke his hand falling down the stairs at his house. This is, admittedly, not the least-embarrassing way to hurt yourself. Hernandez was back in action Saturday for Bayer Leverkusen against Hamburg. 

Finnish striker Joel Pohjanpalo stole the show with a hat trick for Leverkusen, but Chicharito played well in his return, going the full 90 and assisting Pohjanpalo's third goal.

Bobby Wood’s play hasn’t been dissected to the level with which we’ve examined Gyasi Zardes. Wood, at 23, doesn’t come with the ‘phenom’ label that’s attached to Jordan Morris. He doesn’t uniformly divide opinion like Jozy Altidore or Chris Wondolowski. Wood has endeared himself to USMNT supporters without ever triggering the American soccer hype machine.

Oliver Kahn collected 86 appearances for Germany and 429 for Bayern Munich. Twice he finished third in Ballon d’Or voting — a sensational achievement for a goalkeeper. So, when Kahn reveals what the greatest goal ever scored on him was, we should all be paying attention.

Having called time on his playing days back the 2008, the now 47-year-old shot stopper took to Twitter to celebrate the anniversary of that goal. 

“Exactly 23 years ago today is this sensational goal from Jay-Jay Okocha — and I’m still dizzy…” said Kahn.

Schweinsteiger played his last game for Germany Wednesday, a friendly against Finland. He will be remembered as the central nervous system of one of the best international teams ever, the midfield general in charge of, like, three other midfield generals.

After Bayern Munich crushed Werder Bremen 6-0 in the Bundesliga opener, it looks like this season will be more of the same in Germany. The trophy will probably stay at Allianz Arena for another year, and there isn't much any other club can do about it.
