Alex Morgan Will Be On The Cover Of FIFA 16

Cristiano Ronaldo still can’t catch a break with EA Sports. Lionel Messi steals the stage yet again as the most popular poster boy for the hit soccer video game. However, the Barcelona forward’s partner on the cover continues to change. This time you may not have guessed who.

Alex Morgan, Christine Sinclair and Stephanie Catley will all share a spot the world’s best on the front of FIFA 16 in each of their respective regions. Also, for the first time, and just in time at the conclusion of the Women’s World Cup, women’s national teams will be available to use in the new game.

Date Set For FIFA Presidential Election

The date is finally set. Sepp Blatter's successor as FIFA President will be chosen at an extraordinary conference February 26, 2016.

Blatter announced his resignation in June, just four days after winning his fifth presidential term.

A Comedian Just Made It Rain On The Most Powerful Man In Soccer

I almost feel bad for Sepp Blatter at this point; keyword: almost.

Don’t get me wrong, what is happening to him is completely pathetic and pitiful, but he deserves it all. His first words of his latest press conference were so ironic it was like someone paid him to take classes in poetic irony just for the occasion:

“We have to clean here first.”

Yes, Sepp, yes you do.

CONCACAF Falls Sharply In Updated FIFA Rankings

FIFA recently released it’s updated Men’s World Rankings and they did not go easy on Mexico, United States, and Costa Rica.

The rankings showcase who are the best teams in the world, and take into account friendly fixtures and competitive fixtures. Teams accumulate points throughout.

Jordan Henderson Will Be On The FIFA 16 Cover

What a week it's been for Jordan Henderson. The 25-year-old midfielder was officially named Steven Gerrard's replacement as Liverpool captain Friday.

That same day, it was also announced that Henderson had won a fan vote to join Lionel Messi on the cover of the U.K. version of FIFA 16.

FIFA Bans Chuck Blazer For Life

Chuck Blazer, the cat-apartment-owning Halloween costume enthusiast who used to be one of the key figures in U.S. soccer and a member of the FIFA Executive committee, has been banned for life by FIFA for transgressions that he committed while working for FIFA.

FIFA Ethics Committee Bans Former World Cup Bid Evaluation Chairman

The FIFA Ethics Committee has handed a seven-year ban from all national and international soccer activity to Harold Mayne-Nicholls, former chairman of the Chilean FA and the bid evaluation group for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

Mayne-Nicholls was tasked by FIFA to look into the suitability of the bids for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, but it is believed his report was largely ignored.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Opinion On The FIFA Scandal

TMZ asked Zlatan his thoughts on the FIFA scandal, and it went about as well as you'd expect.

"I don't know. It's not my area. I play soccer," Zlatan said.

Hear that? ZLATAN CALLED IT SOCCER. This is further proof that America is taking over the game. It's no longer "football." It's "soccer." Zlatan said so.

Now that one of the best players in the world called it soccer, the can be no stopping it. Get used to soccer, rest of the world.

Ben Affleck And Matt Damon To Produce FIFA Corruption Movie

There is going to be a movie about FIFA.

No, not that godawful United Passions movie, which we here at the18.com couldn’t stand either. This film is about the corruption scandal.

Teaming up to make the film will be Hollywood A-Listers Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, along with Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady and Darin Friedman. A writer and director are attached as well.

John Oliver Made Good On His Promise To Drink A Bud Light Lime If Sepp Blatter Resigned

John Oliver made a promise to FIFA sponsors Adidas, McDonald's and Budweiser: if Sepp Blatter resigned, Oliver would wear a pair of ridiculous Adidas shoes, take a bite out of every item on the McDonald's dollar menu and drink a Bud Light Lime and say it was delicious.

John Oliver, evidently, is a man of his word, because he did all of those things, even chugging the whole Bud Light Lime while the studio audience cheered him on.
