The hosts surged to a 1-0 lead with just moments left before the half time whistle after Kasper Schmeichel made one great save but could not contain the acrobatic bicycle kick from the man in gold and black. Leicester did not look like the unbelievable team they were last year but hey cut them some slack, lots of pressure to take on Hull in their first match up.

Leicester City opened their title defense in the worst possible fashion on Saturday, losing to a newly promoted Hull City side whose own preseason has bordered on the shambolic.

Leicester became the first ever reigning Premier League champions to lose their opening game, and they’ve been defeated by the early favorites for relegation, Hull City.

Leicester’s far-reaching preseason, including matches against Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, doesn’t appear to have sufficiently readied the East Midlands club. 

Aston Villa Are Back And Scoring On Themselves At Will

For Aston Villa, keeping the ball out of their own net has become akin to keeping an ice cube frozen in Hell. They were relegated from the Premier League after giving up an astonishing 76 goals last year, and they’ve now somehow managed to ship three goals to League Two side Luton.

The pick of the bunch was certainly Luton’s third — a calamitous own goal scored by Villa's Jores Okore. Under absolutely no pressure whatsoever, the Denmark center back somehow managed to cooly tuck away an opponent’s cross into his own net.

Lamela Is Pretty Good At Soccer

LAMELA! OH THAT IS BRILLIANT!! And brilliant it was. A gentle yet powerful left footed curler added to the beating as Tottenham demolished Inter Milan. Look for Lamela to assist Harry Kane in this season for Tottenham as they attempt to snatch the title that they couldn't quite grab last year. A 6-1 beating of Inter Milan was another step for Tottenham as they look to get things started the right way on August 13th against Everton at Goodison Park. This second goal for Tottenham was a sumptuous finish courtesy of Erik Lamela. Fantastic finish and placement.
