Inter Miami isn’t off to a hot start and its inaugural season has yet to begin.

Back in April of 2019, Serie A club Inter Milan filed a trademark claim for the “Inter” prefix, and today it was revealed that David Beckham’s club lost the first round of the legal battle. If the Italian giant ends up winning, then there will need to be an Inter Miami name change.

There’s obviously no official record for the fastest shot in soccer. It’d be convenient if a man with a radar gun had been sanctioned to sit at every match played since the beginning of time, but that was an oversight on FIFA’s end. 

There was an ad I saw on Twitter today starring two really, really good-looking people. Oh my. You may know them as Sir David Beckham and Lady Gaga. I know what you’re thinking, “Lady Gaga? Isn’t that the sister of Garry Gaga?”

Yup, that’s the one. 

But here’s Garry’s sister talking with Golden Balls in an ad for . . . I don't know what. Regardless, I think they're doing a great job. 

A new study has revealed the top earners on Instagram, and it’s time to drop everything and focus on becoming an influencer. We’ll also need to score 701 professional goals, get shredded, win five Ballon d’Ors and five Champions League crowns, but we’ll worry about that later. First, let’s just dream about taking home $975K for every sponsored post we throw out there.

Football is back and so is each player’s unique fashion sense. I thought I could just provide a deeper look into the various facets of fashion and its clash with football. Fashion in football has taken on quite interesting forms over the years. More and more, fashion is coming to the forefront with its involvement in the game, the clubs and the players themselves. We now live in an odd world where a player’s style can be equally as important to their image as their stats. Like it or not, this fashion influence seems to be here to stay.

The Designated Player Rule, also known as the Beckham Rule, remains in effect as the league enters its 24th season. The rule allows teams to sign up to three players that are considered outside the team’s salary cap ($4.035M in 2018). 

In essence, this allows teams to compete for star players in the international market (like how the LA Galaxy started this whole rigamarole by signing David Beckham to a five-year contract worth $6.5M annually back in 2007).
