No hay doble lectura: lo que el técnico Julen Lopetegui le hizo a Raúl Jiménez en el duelo entre los Wolves y Everton fue una grotesca canallada. Y los fans del equipo inglés no se lo perdonan.

Jiménez ha tenido una temporada para el olvido, no hay como negarlo. Tan mala que se lo ha pasado las últimas semanas fuera de convocatoria o en el banco de suplentes. Tan mala que es prácticamente un hecho su salida al final de la campaña.

El ránking FIFA dejó de estar solo a la hora de ganarse el odio de los aficionados del fútbol. Yay! Nuestra amada Concacaf anunció esta semana que tendrá su propio ránking de clubes masculinos para así determinar sembrados en futuras competencias regionales.

¿Cómo funciona el ránking de clubes de la Concacaf?

A la hora de crear el nuevo ránking, la Concacaf consideró como punto de partida los resultados a nivel de clubes en distintas competencias a nivel doméstico e internacional desde 2017 a la fecha. A saber:

Brentford and England striker Ivan Toney has been banned from soccer for eight months and fined $63,000 after admitting to 232 breaches of the Football Association's (FA) betting rules, the governing body said on Wednesday.

Toney will not be able to play for club or country until Jan. 16, 2024 and he has been warned as to his future conduct. The sanctions were imposed by an independent regulatory commission after a personal hearing.

PSG fans booing Messi reminds me of that one spoiled kid who gets upset when their parents buy them a fancy new car but it’s the wrong color.

The loudest of the whistles and jeers came on corner kicks that Messi took. Fans also booed before the game when he was announced in the starting lineup.

Colorado Rapids suspend player after alleged connection to illegal sports gambling scheme

The Colorado Rapids suspended midfielder Max Alves on Wednesday for an alleged connection to an illegal sports gambling plot, according to the Denver Post and ESPN.

Alves, a 21-year-old native of Brazil, is under investigation by prosecutors in his home country for being associated with match-fixing, per the reports. One of those matches reportedly was a Rapids game, and Alves allegedly was paid by match-fixers who asked players to shift their performance to the benefit of sports bettors.

Alfie was a guest in one of the stadium's VIP boxes and had several exchanges with Real Madrid supporters, including some caught on camera.

Liverpool fans boo national anthem before their side’s victory vs. Brentford

LIVERPOOL — An early goal by Mohamed Salah was enough to give Liverpool a 1-0 Premier League win over Brentford on Saturday that keeps the pressure on fierce rivals Manchester United in the hunt for Champions League football next season.

Before the game got underway, the Liverpool fans loudly booed, whistled and chanted their team's name as the national anthem was played to mark the coronation of King Charles in London earlier on Saturday.
