Hablaliga: 5 Most Expensive Transfers

Watch our last Hablaliga here.

Hi, I’m Giselle Cesin with the18, and this is Hablaliga. Today we’re going to talk about the five most expensive La Liga transfers of all time.

Philippe Coutinho - Liverpool to Barcelona

Barcelona used a big chunk of the money from selling Neymar to buy one of his best friends, Liverpool’s little magician, for 120 million Euros.

Ousmane Dembele - Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona

Another large part of the Neymar money went to French winger Ousmane Dembele, who will probably be good once he stops getting hurt. Dembele cost Barcelona 105 million Euros last summer, but has only made seven appearances and hasn’t scored yet.

Gareth Bale - Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid

Speaking of injury problems, Real Madrid bought Gareth Bale for 100 million Euros in 2013. The Welshman has had a fine career so far in Madrid, but his injury issues have kept him from fulfilling his true potential.

Cristiano Ronaldo - Manchester United to Real Madrid

Real Madrid bought Cristiano Ronaldo for 94 million Euros in 2009 and, four Ballon d’Or awards later, he has proved to be a bargain.

Neymar - Santos to Barcelona

Neymar is somehow connected with three of the transfers on this list, the last of which is his own. The Brazilian moved to Barcelona from Santos in 2013 for 88 million Euros. Barcelona still tripled their money when they sold him because the footballer market is out of control.

Who will be the next player to break into this list? If recent history is any indication, it’ll happen pretty soon.
