Oh, to be a superstar. The fame, the wealth, the glorious, glorious nights out on the town. Who knows who you might run into from the world of the rich and powerful? You might knock a few back with Will Farrell. You could brag about your greatest athletic accomplishment with Lebron. You could make James Earl Jones laugh and at the classiest place in the city, and then sit back and bask as the rich vibrations of his chuckle just warms up the room. You could even fall in love!
Well, I suppose that last one could happen anywhere, but it probably couldn’t happen with anyone near as famous as, say, international pop superstar Rihanna. Yeah, you’re not catching her eye at McDonald’s or sparking an intellectual conversation at Starbucks. You gotta be pullin’ in some serious bank if you wanna cross paths with this little showstopper. Perhaps that’s why it’s not so surprising that she has been hanging out with one of the stars of the most glamorous, and well paid, teams in the world: Karim Benzema.
Oh, superstars do have to deal with TMZ, which sucks, but at the end of the day I would have to imagine that they sleep very well at night knowing that they, unlike TMZ, do not make a living off a parasitic relationship with people that hate them. That, and like old Benzema here, the whole fact that you get to date, or at the very least hangout with, the most popular woman on the planet.
We wonder who broke the ice: him or her, and what kind of question, joke, or salutation her or she broke the ice with?
I can see it now: Benzema approaches Rihanna in a crowded room. “We Found Love” is obviously playing in the background. Rihanna smiles at Benzema as he walks up to her. Benzema is unsure of what to do, but then he remembers that he makes €8 million a year and suddenly the moment isn’t so intimidating. He says, “F*** TMZ, right?” And the rest is history.
