If you know one thing about University of Wyoming athletics, it’s probably that Josh Allen threw some balls for the school before doing the same in the NFL. But we’ve found someone who throws balls even better than the former Cowboys quarterback, and it’s Cowgirls forward Alyssa Bedard. Her Wyoming flip throw goal was so good it made SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays of the day.
I’ll be honest, I’d rather referee Brazilian soccer than watch the NFL, so I have no idea if Josh Allen is any good. But I do know he played at Wyoming, making him the third person worth knowing from that school, after Bedard and The18’s Bianca Coca.
Bedard’s accomplishments are, in my eyes, much more impressive than her NFL counterpart. Allen throws oddly shaped balls while protected by a bunch of massive humans. Bedard throws balls while upside down.
On Sunday, Bedard pulled off an amazing flip-throw assist, setting up the first goal of the game against Colorado College. Vitally, Maddie Chance got just enough of her head to the ball before it went in, otherwise the goal would not have counted.

So good.
The distance and arc on the ball made it a terrifying play for the Tigers to defend. Maybe the USMNT should consider practicing this play after its pathetic offensive showing against Panama on Sunday.

Unfortunately for Bedard and the Cowgirls, Colorado College rallied in the second half to win 2-1. But the Tigers didn’t get a play on SportsCenter, so I think we can call it a draw.

Let’s see Josh Allen do that.
