It is hard to call any team a headliner in a victory tour when the team going on that tour in the United States Women’s National team. The Americans are always going to be the stars, but with the additions of two games against Brazil on the docket for October 21st and 25th, their victory tour has secured one of the best teams in the world.
Brazil is currently ranked 6th in the world, and has a pretty atrocious record against the United States. However, they do have one of the best players in the world, Marta, and while her presence in the games has not been guaranteed yet, she is exactly the kind of draw that an exhibition match relies on. When teams aren’t really trying on defense, it’s up to players like Marta to wow the crowd with their skills.
The games will take place at CenturyLink Field in Seattle and then the Citrus Bowl in Orlando.
The USWNT’s victory tour will open with a game against Costa Rica on August 16. Australia will come to the US to play games in September.
