Cristiano Ronaldo is no stranger to having his name in the tabloids. Being one of the greatest soccer players in the world, as well as being extremely attractive and rich, will do that for you. Your name will be everywhere for better or worse.
However, this recent claim tops them all.
No, we’re not talking about Ronaldo’s rumored move to Real Madrid’s bitter rivals, Barcelona.
Daniel Riolo, a contributor on the French sports show Touche pas a mon sport, has sparked a rumour that Cristiano Ronaldo is in a romantic relationship with Moroccan kickboxer Badr Hari.
“Ronaldo takes three or four jets a week to see a friend in Morocco to cuddle,” Riolo said.
It is true that Ronaldo is a bit of a jet-setter, and often travels to Morocco and other parts of the world to hang out and party with Hari and friends (and why wouldn’t you if you can afford it), but Riolo’s statement seems like nothing more than sensationalism said to spark controversy.
Ronaldo is known to be a bit of a playboy with women, having previously been linked to celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton, and even recently, when quizzed about his love-life on British television, Ronaldo admitted to having a few different women vying for his affections. A few women? It must suck to be him.
Also, Ronaldo and Hari seem to have little to hide when it comes to their bromance. Hari frequently posts pictures on Instagram of the two men hanging out shirtless and showing off.
Perhaps these ridiculous rumours are just what you have to deal with when you’re one of the most famous athletes on the planet: hearsay and gossip. Thankfully for Real Madrid and Ronaldo’s fans, it doesn’t seem to bother him too much or affect his performances on the pitch (or maybe it did this weekend). I guess now all we can do is sit back and see what rumour the tabloids come up with next.
Maybe Ronaldo is an alien? No, wait, I think we’ve heard that one about Messi already.
