Facundo Roncaglia is a right-back for Geneo.
Facundo Roncaglia has had a respectable career that has seen him play for Boca Juniors, Espanyol, and Fiorentina. He has made 6 appearances for the Argentine national team, and has done little — as far as I know — to tarnish a reputation that is nothing if not respectable.
But, this story is not about Fecundo Roncaglia. It’s about his brother, Alejandro Roncaglia, and if you are curious about what separates one from the other, what allows one to travel the world plying his trade and while the other toils away in the Argentine third division, you are about to find out.
That was Alejandro, the third division brother, playing right into the narrative of this article, cold clocking the referee after being shown a yellow card.
I have seen a referee sling red cards as if they were a Black Jack dealer in Vegas, signal a foul and break a players nose, and get drop kicked in the back like they walked into the wrong cage match. But I have never seen one go down for the count as completely as that poor bastard. I mean he is OUT. If it wasn’t such a bogus cheap shot, I would actually be impressed.
Now, if only Alejando was as clinical with the rest of his career as he was with that punch…
