Benfica have pretty much dominated the Taça da Liga, a.k.a. the Portuguese League Cup, winning six times since the tournament's inception in 2008, including last year. They took another step toward defending their title Tuesday when an 89th minute Raul Jimenez winner gave them all three points in the group stage (yes, Portugal's league cup has a group stage) against Nacional.

This is the second game in a row Jimenez has scored for Benfica. He scored in their 3-1 win over Rio Ave in their most recent Premeira Liga fixture.
The only other clubs that have won the Portuguese League Cup are Braga and Vitoria de Setubal.
The 24-year-old Jimenez came over to Benfica from Atletico Madrid during the summer transfer window. He has five goals so far this season.
This goal marks Jimenez's best run of form so far this year, which is leading to plaudits on Twitter.
Good to see Raul Jimenez picking up important goals at Benfica. Next year should be a good one for him. #TRIEUROPEO

If he keeps it up he could be Chicharito's strike partner in 2018.
