Philipp Lahm is retiring. That is a sad thing.
Throughout his career, Lahm has been two things: a winner, and criminally underrated. He captained Germany during their 2014 World Cup win and captained Bayern Munich to numerous Bundesliga titles, Champions League titles and domestic cup titles.

Primarily a defensive midfielder and fullback, Lahm has been the best right back in the world for years, and one of the elite players at every position he's played. Just look at this man's highlights:
If Messi was a defensive player, he would be Philipp Lahm. Joshua Kimmich has a lot to live up to.
