Back when things were still astonishingly glorious at Leicester, before Claudio Ranieri could be found trying to choke out N’Golo Kante in his blue Chelsea shirt, Ranieri wrote an article for The Players’ Tribune where he made a prophesy that seemed to be, at the time, in jest.
However, as time has passed, that prophesy seems to be getting ever closer to being fulfilled. Ranieri says that he once told Kante, “One day, I’m going to see you cross the ball, and then finish the cross with a header yourself.”
Is that humanly possible? No. But N’Golo Kante is clearly not human. Against West Ham on Monday, Kante didn’t finish his own cross, but he did get on the end of his own pass.

That’s absurd. Playing in a side that’s not as direct as Leicester City, some questioned whether he’d be able to adjust to Chelsea’s more considerate approach. He’s been averaging almost 62 passes per game with a success rate over 88%.
Defensively, he averages 3.6 successful tackles, 2.3 interceptions and 1.1 clearances according to WhoScored. He is an animal.
Kante summed up in 24 seconds. Unreal. This guy is not human. #KanteFacts
