Brawls and fights in sports are normally pretty entertaining because they never really amount to anything serious. Some pushing and shoving and then it's over. But in this under- 19 match between Mexico and Northern Ireland, playing in the Milk Cup, the minors took things to a new level.
The pushing and shoving turned when a Mexican player got thrown to the ground, spurring him to pop up and unload a vicious kick at the head of an Irish player who wasn’t the person who had thrown him to the ground. It’s tough to see if he made contact, but it was a scary moment - especially in an under-19 match.
Four players were ejected from the match and the kicking assailant, who has yet to be identified, will surely receive a ban from FIFA. The ref called the match before full-time. Below is the video.
