A hairy day for Barcelona that included an own goal and ended in a 2-2 draw vs Villareal turned especially bad for one woman when Lionel Messi took a shot in the 18th minute of the game. The shot, a powerful one launched from just outside the 18, flew off target and into the crowd, where it hit a supporter and apparently broke her arm.

The severity of the situation becomes clear when the women passes out and turns green. Breaking a bone is traumatic enough as it is, and it can’t have been helped to be surrounded by tens of thousands of fans. Fortunately, she seems to have been serviced by medical staff fairly promptly.
As mentioned before, the game would end in a 2-2 draw. Barcelona were guilty of giving up a 2-0 lead, and maybe there is some karmic justice in that.
