Manager Subs Himself On, Scores Goal, Saves Penalty, Runs Off With Wife Of Opponent.

Sometimes, when things aren’t going your team's way, you have to take matters in to your own hands. That's exactly what Grays Athletic manager Mark Bentley did.

The player/coach for the Ryman League semi-pro club subbed himself on while his side was down 2-1 to Hampton & Richmond Borough FC. What happened next was clutch. Bentley cashed in on a header to level the score at 2-2.

But he wasn’t done yet. After 77 minutes of play, Grays goalkeeper Conor Gough earned a red card after a scuffle in the penalty box. As the manager, Bentley had to step up when his team needed him most…again. He thew on the goalkeeping gloves and proceeded to SAVE the penalty, giving Grays another chance at the three points.

We’re sure you know what happened next, because this story couldn't end any other way. In the waning seconds of the game, Grays found their winner. Joao Carlos received a Correy Davidson pass and buried a curling shot into the back of the net, giving Grays an improbable win. Bentley didn’t actually run away with the opponents wife, but he might as well have, because what he accomplished was RIDICULOUS. Bentley then went on social media to let us all know he's always thought he could of been a good keeper.

Sports, you never cease to amaze us.
