The anticipation of Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez joining Inter Miami continues to grow and he gave a preview of what his time in Major League Soccer could look like on Thursday.
With his side Gremio trailing Brazilian Série A league leaders Botafogo 3-1, Suárez netted a hat trick in the span of 19 minutes to pull his side ahead.
Suárez may be turning 37 next January, but he’s shown that he hasn’t lost any of his goal scoring abilities.

Multiple reports last week stated that Suárez will finish the current season with Gremio before joining forces with Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba at Inter Miami for the 2024 MLS season.
If he’s exhibiting this kind of form, then MLS defenders will be on high alert.
Suárez has been a consistent goal contributor in Gremio’s hunt for their first league title since 1996. His latest heroics bring his goal tally to 14 goals in 28 appearances. He also has 10 assists this season.
Gremio’s latest victory creates a three-way tie for first in the table with Botafogo and Palmeiras. All three clubs have 59 points while RB Bragantino sit at 58 and Flamengo close behind at 56 points.
Suárez’s goal scoring capabilities will be needed more than ever in his final five games for Gremio.
