Tottenham’s $35 million signing of Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain is a fantastic piece of business for both the London club and fans of the Premier League on the whole. For Tottenham, the club has some brilliant forward-thinking fullbacks, but no true quality wingers like Lucas.
Hell, the transfer reveal video was already a smashing success for Spurs.

For fans of the EPL, he’s a Sao Paulo native (read: Joga Bonito) with 36 international appearances for Brazil. Before falling off the edge of the Earth with regards to minutes at PSG this season (Kylian Mbappe will have that effect on your career), he was the club’s greatest spectacle, scoring 12 goals and adding five assists in 37 Ligue 1 matches last campaign.
The EPL has an abundance of wingers who can run really fast and jink around a bit without really ever convincing you of possessing a brain (Andros Townsend, Theo Walcott, etc.), but Lucas combines that pace with extreme flair and a remarkable ability to hold onto the ball.
Granted, he’s not a great finisher, but that’s what Harry Kane is for.

He’s a shit-ton of fun, and Tottenham will be hoping that he’ll be the club’s own version Liverpool’s Sadio Mane or Manchester City’s Leroy Sane. If he fails to match those two, it’ll be matter of effectiveness in the final third (turning the myriad of pedaladas, elasticos and lambretas into goals and assists).
Regardless, he’s still going to provide us with all those tekkers. In the spirit of Lucas, here are five times the Brazilian broke the internet with his pieces of flair.
