Mexico's gole medal defense is finished after a 1-0 loss to South Korea eliminated El Tri. Mexico needed to either win outright or tie and have Germany beat Fiji by less than four goals.
Instead, this happened:

(Germany, by the way, beat Fiji 10-0, so no help for Mexico there)
At least that was a nice goal. Mexico had chances, most notably Carlos Cisneros hitting the inside of the post mid-way through the second half. In the end, though, they just couldn't find a way through South Korea's defense, which was bolstered by South Korea's strategy of keeping men back and waiting to spring counters.
Hirving Lozano and Cubo Torres never really got anything going, and Lozano was sent off in the 93rd minute after receiving a second yellow.
