Leonardo Sernicola Scores Incredibly Satisfying Goal Against Torino

Stop what you’re doing and watch this goal from Cremonese left-back Leonardo Sernicola.

Late in his side’s eventual 2-1 loss to Torino, Sernicola unleashed a spectacular effort that is ever so satisfying to watch. His teammate Cyriel Dessers chested the ball into his path, but as he approached it, it fell at an awkward height and Sernicola had to improvise. A hop and strike with the inside of his foot preceded a beautiful curling goal that nestled perfectly into the top corner.

If he had picked the ball up and put it in the goal himself, he couldn’t have picked a better spot. Torino goalkeeper — and professional Pepe Reina impersonator — Vanja Milinković-Savić would agree as he was left rooted to the spot, unable to do anything helpful except pick the ball out of the back of his own net.

If the goal was not impressive enough on its own, this was Sernicola’s first goal in almost three years and his first-ever in Serie A. If this is the standard for the young Italian, hopefully, we’ll see more from him in the future.
