Late Go-Ahead Goal Earns Christen Press Player Of The Week

The USWNT’s Christen Press showed endurance and determination as she burst past the defense in the 91st minute to beat the Seattle Reign.

The Chicago Red Stars’ Christen Press has earned player of the week honors in the NWSL for her performance against the Seattle Reign over the weekend. 

Press scored the game winning goal in extra time, giving her team a morale-boosting win in their first game of the season. The goal was an opportunistic one, taking advantage of a good bounce and perhaps some tired minds and legs to burst past Reign’s defense in the 91st minute and finish past Hope Solo.

Press and the Red Stars will face the Portland Thorns on Saturday, April 25th at 8:30 p.m. EST.
