The anticipated rivalry between Los Angeles FC and LA Galaxy, set to begin in 2018, is off to a rip-roaring start.
The Golden State Warriors, who are owned in part by Peter Guber, just won the NBA championship. Peter Guber is also part-owner of LAFC, so some congratulations were in order from the MLS expansion franchise. That congratulations came in the form of a tweet.
Congrats to @LAFC Executive Chairman & Owner @PeterGuber on winning the NBA Title. He'll bring trophies to LA soon. pic.twitter.com/ubk2yMusCa

That tweet caught the attention of Los Angeles's other MLS franchise, who were none too happy about LAFC talking about bringing some MLS trophies to the City of Angels, mainly because they have already done that.
So, to remind LAFC that LA already has some soccer trophies (and also perhaps to put the jamokies in the LAFC social media office in their places) LA Galaxy tweeted back.
@lafc If only there was a soccer team in LA that won trophies. Or actually played soccer games. pic.twitter.com/0lNBYICO2f

This should be a fun rivalry to watch in the coming years, seeing as their social media teams are already going at it.
