How fast is Mohamed Salah? The breakthrough player of the 2017-18 European club season combined his speed and dribbling skills with a newfound confidence in front of goal to devastating effect last year, scoring 44 goals and adding 14 assists in 52 matches. Deployed on the right-hand side of Liverpool’s feared front three, Salah and teammate Sadio Mane are two of the quickest footballers on the planet.
In FIFA 18, both wingers boast 93 pace. According to EA Sports, only 12 players on the planet are faster. During the 2017-18 Premier League season, Mane clocked a top speed of 34.84 kph (21.64 mph). The 26-year-old Egyptian actually bettered that mark, recording the 18th fastest speed in the whole division last year at 34.93 kph (21.70 mph).
What a great goal this was – so much initiative, then that burst of raw pace, followed by a calm composed finish.

It wasn’t even four years ago that then Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was slamming Salah for his performance against Shrewsbury in the League Cup and subsequently sending the player on loan to Fiorentina. It wasn’t until he joined Roma that his qualities began to show consistently.

When Mourinho first signed him, he saw a “humble personality on the pitch, ready to work for the team.” At Liverpool, Salah has transformed into the sort of player that doesn’t just work for the team; he’s got the talent to single-handedly decide a match.
Back in July, Salah signed a new contract with Liverpool, keeping him at the club until 2023 and paying him nearly $13 million per year. After being named the African Footballer of the Year, the Premier League Player of the Season and picking up the EPL Golden Boot, Salah will be targeting much more than personal glory this upcoming season.
