Marko Marin was once the next big thing. He was nicknamed “the German Messi” because of his dribbling skills, short stature, world-class agility, and seemingly world-class finishing ability. This nickname proved to be more than a little premature. He bombed out of Chelsea after just a year at the London club, went to Sevilla, and then bounced to Fiorentina and Anderlecht before finally landing at Trabzonspor in 2015; Champions League to 10th in the Turkish league in 2 years.
So, it’s fair to question what happened to the man that was once supposed to be the next big thing. Well, if this clip is anything to go by, he’s making the most out of that short stature. We don’t see Zlatan pulling off this next bit of “skill” any time soon.
Behold, the full-body nutmeg. It is really possible, and it should be a fad!
We need to add this to the Nutmeg Hall of Fame, which includes this Bundesliga attacker’s triple nutmeg of a poor defender and Lionel Messi’s humiliation of James Milner.
Who would have thought putting the ball through a player’s legs could cause such joy?
