FIFA 17 Is Going To Change Everything

Every year, the latest edition of the FIFA franchise promises spectacular changes, but, apart from minor adjustments here and there, the football simulator remains largely unchanged. FIFA 17 is looking to shatter that precedent by rolling out an abundance of changes this year — none bigger than the highly publicized switch to the Frostbite game engine.

The Frostbite engine has been used to good effect in games like the Battlefield series and Star Wars Battlefront, but the engine looks set to drastically enhance the way FIFA looks and plays.

The official gameplay trailer gave fans a brief glimpse of what to expect come September 29th, 2016, but EA Sports has just recently given us further insight behind the game’s design by bringing us behind the scenes of EA’s Juventus development.

Here, you can watch as players like Gigi Buffon, Paul Pogba and Paulo Dybala are rendered into pixelated glory. FIFA 17 looks set to change everything.

Other new features of FIFA 17 include a complete renovation of player movement and AI, a rewrite of the set piece system, a transformation of the game's physical play and a new feature called "The Journey". This game mode will allow you to take a fictional star, Alex Hunter, through the career stages of a Premier League pro.
