Wednesday’s highly anticipated encounter between Manchester United and Tottenham in the Premier League DID NOT disappointment in the opening 11 seconds. Second and fifth kicked off at Wembley and then there was a goal by Christian Eriksen. It happened just like that.
Eriksen’s strike on 11 seconds is the fastest goal of the EPL season so far, and only eclipsed by Ledley King’s deflected strike for Tottenham against Bradford back in 2000 (clocked at 9.7 seconds) and Alan Shearer's 2003 goal vs. Man City (10 seconds). Mark Viduka also scored in 11 seconds in a match between Charlton and Leeds.

While you certainly wouldn’t have put this kind of accomplishment beyond Spurs, it’s remarkable that it was achieved against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United, especially with that man David de Gea in goal.
Obviously, it’s the quickest goal United has ever conceded in the Premier League.
